Hi everyone, my name is Derek, I am a type 2, diagnosed in around 1985, diet controlled for 11years, glibazoid? for a few years, progressed or should that be deteriated to metformin and now take 2 x 500 3 times a day with statin and ramipril for added effect along with 25 units humalog each meal and a rear ender of 34 units of lantus for bed, now if you combine this with a lousy memory I think I do quite well, 90 day average is 14.5 as is anything down to 7 days give or take 1 and thats because I forget to inject. thats it really apart from having a shop next door and pigging out when I get bored with dieting, my weight is up to almost 16 stone so I decided to join and succeed at gaining control, I confess I do not exercise at present or in the past but have just got myself a rowing machine and if anyone is interested I eat my main course (dinner) at 5.30 am, my sandwich at 12.00pm and a mixed fresh fruit salad for tea, all on top of my tablets which has caused me to no longer suffer stomach aches or liquified deposits and I used to get severe cramps at night but no longer as I have taken to using diet Indian tonic water with added quinine(horrible stuff)mixed with orange squash with the gas shaken out to take my tablets with and I have not had a cramp for over 2 years now, thats enough dribble from me so Hello.....

Hi Derky, and welcome. Someone will be along soon with loads of good advice. Good luck!

Hi Derek and welcome to the forum
I wonder if you are reducing carbs. The clue is the sandwich and fresh fruit salad which you said you ate, and I would be curious to know what you have for dinner. It would help your levels if you could cut down on carbs. Are you also testing, at least at 2 hours after meals ? That way you will see which foods you can tolerate and which you can't. Here is some information which may help you which we give to new members. Ask all the questions you like as there is always someone who can help.
