dexcom 6 with omnipod 5? Rather than libre 2 plus

Hi All,

I have recently gone onto the omnipod 5 with freestyle libre 2 plus. I am loving the freedom of no injections after 37 1/2 years being TD1. But I am getting annoying with the "searching for sensor" that keeps happening I spoke to my diabetes nurse and the advise was put your pod near your sensor! Which is easier said than done when you have to change the pod every 3 days!

Is it easier with dexcom 6? I like the idea of not having to put my sensor on my arm.

Hi Siobhan, I am on Dexcom 6 and Omnipod 5.
So I wear my sensor on one side of my tummy and the pod on the other side. The devices need to be facing each other in order to have a good connection.
I haven’t had any problems.

Hi Siobhan. Like suk, I use the Dexcom 6 and the Omnipod 5 on my stomach. Have you tried putting the Libre 2 plus on your stomach instead of your arm? I asked my consultant if this was possible when I’m changed over to Libre and he said absolutely. In his opinion, being told to wear it on your arm is a brilliant marketing tactic. I used Libre before going onto pump therapy and was forever knocking it off. I shall see how I get on with it and ask to go back to Dexcom if it doesn’t work.
