Hi everyone,

I tried to “presoak” a dex sensor from yesterday. When I put the transmitter in today it was one of the worst that I’ve had!

The Dexcom kept saying I was 16mmol and going up and hasn’t dropped below 11mmol today (i have been between 2mmol -8mmol most of today). I missed quite a big hypo because it was so far out and I don’t have great hypo awareness.

I normally use arm sites, but this one is on my stomach. Does anyone else find these less accurate?
 
Just to add the Dexcom seems to be ignoring most calibrations that I’ve added.

I’ll calibrate downwards, it will correct and then 10mins later it’s showing a higher number again.

Should I give up on this site and call Dexcom for a replacement?
 
I wonder if there’s a batch problem. I’d never had this problem (usually it’s the opposite for the first 24 hours) but I opened a new box of 3 and applied the first sensor yesterday. After the warmup it was reading 9 (finger said 5.6) and then just kept going up to 15 when my finger said I was going down. I calibrated it this morning and, fingers crossed, it seems ok now. If it goes high again when I’m not (i checked with 2 different glucometers, countour next and abbot and both said I was in the 5s) I’ll ring Dexcom. Could a transmitter error cause false high readings?
 
Is Dexcom provided by your health team or are funding the sensors privately?
 
I’m funding these myself. Currently on holiday, so will call when I’m home next week.

It has got a bit more accurate over the past few days, but still seems to be ignoring calibrations.

I.e. it says I’m at 10mmol, I correct to 8 per my finger stick and 15mins later it’s back above 10. Very frustrating!
 
Yes i swapped to Dexcom as the libre was just not accurate enough for me. Dexcom is usually better and improved by the calibration feature. However, this sensor just doesn’t want to calibrate. Every time input a correct reading, it ignores it and reverts to the previous reading.

fyi this isn’t the normal calibration issue where the Dexcom picks the average between the calibration number and it’s reading. It is just reverting every time.
