Diabetes and discrimination at work

From what I can see people are getting mixed up with what falls under the DDA and what is describe as a disability in terms of e.g. claiming benefits. You cannot claim benefits like DLA if you have diabetes unless like people have said you have further complications when merit this payment. Where as under DDA diabetes is treated as a disability on its own and there fore employers need to apply the DDA. I do not believe that they need to give him paid time off for appointments so it up to the emplyer how they want to treat it eg whether its taken as holiday s or their day off is changed
