Hello Ehlana.
Divorce is a very emotive [emotional] thing to go through with.
It brings out all the strongest emotions we feel with.
Anger, hurt, angst, rage even - all this is extra stress on the body !
It can drain you - dragging you down...
Blood sugars are receptive to stress too - usually known for going upwards when very stressed
So with the divorce proceedings and stress 'plus' raised blood sugars levels wont be easy for you.
Your probably feeling a bit fragile after the stress has passed, worn out ...
What do you enjoy to have some - quiet 'just you time' ?
Hot bubbly bath ? read a good book ? make a really great diabetic friendly meal [just for you]
Maybe a pamper yourself time is needed ? Get a new hair style, a manicure/pedicure ?
Revitalise youself with the 'self feel good' factor thing - is great to LOWER the stress.
Once you start to feel better in yourself , you will then start to feel more energy and want to do more
to combat the weight creeping on .
Try looking for a local class near by to join in with , keep fit , zumba , anything you may have always fancied
doing, but never got around to doing it !
This would be great for socialising and the activity will help the weight stay off
Its a win- win thing , you have time now and make new friends and keeping active all at the same time !
Try buying a cheery note book - write in it all the things you would love to be and do .
Look at how you CAN set about started on achieving these...
I hope you can make some great changes and will let us all know how things go too .
Anna.
