I was surprised to see on tv this morning a representative of Diabetes UK saying that home testing kits are not worth it and should be taken off sale. I am relatively new to diabetes and have been relying on home testing to help me control my blood sugar levels. What is going on
They are not saying that established diabetics should not use monitors but rather people who want to know if they have diabetes. They may get a reading that they do not understand, i.e. eat a heavy carb meal and get a high reading ten minutes afterwards and come to the conclusion that they are diabetic. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-12905687
