Diabetes Machines

If I have the bog standard bulky nhs testing machine (which I don't like) - is there a better looking modern machine I can get somewhere, but would still be compatable with the the nhs 'glucoject' lancets, and nhs 'glucofix' test strips? I appreciate I will have to pay for it, but not an issue... thanks: Sean Daly (Type 2, and on tablets)

The lancets go with the fingerpricker, no need to use a different fingerpricker when you change to a new glucose meter.

Teststrips only work with the meter they're designed for, you can't use them in a different meter.

... so i'm stuck with this nhs machine then, as these are the only strips I can get on my repeat prescription!

This is often the case

Often the only way around it is to get a hospital to override the GP’s decision

For example my hospital wrote to the gp asking for specific test strips so the gp had to comply - they hate it though

There is quite a saving for the surgery by going with certain test strips
