Hi ive been diabetic for 18 years my bloods recently have been sky high I have been told to tske 2 extra units of my lantis and 1 of my novorapid but think I need more insulin anyone got any suggestions really need help.

Hi, its all individual and depends greatly on your current readings. The general advice is to adjust basal by 2 at a time and can take 3 days to kick in 100%. You sais also to increase your novorapid but will depend on the amount of carbs u eat. Do u carb count?

I agree with Bret.
If you carb count then It might also be a good idea to keep consistent amounts of carbs in your meals for a while so that you can work out what sort of ratio you need.
It would also be a good idea to see if your basal 'correct.
You can do this by testing see

Thanks phoenix doesn't happen often lol. Also agree with your points stick to same amount of carbs for a while to get stable. Also get basal right first as if thats out levels can be very erratic. Also don't overdo things to your normal routine for a bit till stable then introduce excercise if u want afterwards cause that can be another thorne in the side so to speak.
