Anyone else have vitiligo too?
Vitiligo is an auto-immune disease were your body kills off it's melanin cells in your skin and you lose the pigment and can't tan in patches.
Have a search in Google images if you are curious what it looks like.

Hi John
Yes I have both. I even had it before I got Type 1 diabetes when I was 29. It wasn't too bad then, but since I developed diabetes (now 72) it has become particularly bad. Slap on the factor 50 every day and I also use developing tan and instant tan as well. It helps but is a real faf. Night and day. Half the time I do it for the embarrassment and also for others who may find it awkward trying not to look too hard at me. I went on a Dafne course about 5 years ago and met a women who like us had vitiligo. I felt more sorry for her as she would be more aware of how she looks. You would think by now they might have discovered a gene therapy to reverse it. I look very ill (white) when I don't put on Tan but that's life. Forgive me if I have assumed that you are caucasian and not african. A recent program on the TV made me realise it must be much worse for those with very dark skin.
