Hi, I was just wondering if anyone on this forum has been on a diabetes weekend break. I am thinking of going but not to sure whether it will be full of the 'older generation' and if the events are any fun? I've been T1 for 23years and think that I have become a bit too relaxed when it comes to my diabetes. Even if I do decide to go it isn't far from the main shopping centre so I could always go and splash some cash.
Hi, I found out about these weekends away from diabetes.org.uk or you could call their helpline 0207424 1000. They have breaks all over the country and are aimed at both type1 and type2. As I haven't been on one before I'm not sure how good they are but I suppose its worth a try. If anyone reading this has gone to one please let me know if it was any good.
I can't speak for the adult ones, but we have been on 2 family weekends with our Type 1 daughters and they were excellent, for us and for the girls. Very informative, fun, good to meet others in the same situation as ourselves.
