Well we know chocolate with cracked sea salt and chocolate and chilli are a winner so it wouldn't be the first chocolate/savoury combo? Thanks! I think the cheese one is cheese only, no chocolate, but who thought to combine marmite with chocolat? I'm very curious about the taste now!
I couldn't wait for the easter eggs to come to the Netherlands, if that ever happens, so I just tried a smear of marmite on a piece of 85% chocolate, and I think I like it!Well we know chocolate with cracked sea salt and chocolate and chilli are a winner so it wouldn't be the first chocolate/savoury combo?
Do you mean beschuit?Speaking of weird combos, @Antje77 can you get Zweiback crackers in Netherlands? My late hubby and I used to love these buttered with a slice of Edam and a round of banana on top. Havn't had them in years, can't see me ever having them again, sadly.
Do you mean beschuit?

The Germans call it zwieback, from 2 times baked. I believe in the production process they are twice as thick to start when baked the first time, then sliced horizontally and baked until crispy and airy and yummy!
They are indeed wonderful with butter and cheese, or with hagelslag! (look it up and make your own, much better version by grating chocolate. Hagelslag is a perfectly acceptable topping on a breakfast or lunch sandwich for grown ups in the Netherlands)
I'm not sure about the banana on my cheese, but now I've found I like marmite on my chocolate I won't say I won't like it until I tried. Which I probably won't
I still eat beschuit once in a while, depending on the brand they can be as low in carb a piece as 6.5 grams, but they're very fast acting for me.
Yes, I've just had some natural yogurt but when I'm feeling iffy I can't stomach milk products. Today I didn't have a cup of tea until 1.30Does yogurt or a probiotic supplement help with that? May be too late to help once the havoc's kicked in, but may not be ...
Marmite is wonderful!Marmite

Yesterday I had a phone call which broke my heart my best friend of over 38 years has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer I cried all night and still am.
Just caught this news buddy, & sorry to read it.
Stay strong for your friend. I know you're a solid guy. Much love.
Thanks Jay.
I had probably one of the strangest experiences I've ever had a couple of days ago sat in my friends lounge with him, discussing his funeral arrangements which he has already made and going through the funeral directors brochure and paper work with him highlighting the various costs of items and saying well I'm not paying for that or this is a good deal on that item.
He has totally excepted the situation and was for most of the visit trying to cheer me up.
Oh and as usual initiating an argument over Brexit he loves a good argument.
Just made me realize how much I love him and how much I will miss him and his great booming laughter think Brian Blessed cut large.
It sounds like your sick friend is being a good and supporting friend as well! It's teamwork!@JohnEGreen It sounds like you are being a good & supportive friend.
I think you just did, and very eloquent too! There are not words to describe a friendship like that.
