hi everyone

i am a t2 person n take diaformin. i am exercising and have lost weight. i have found that smaller meals are the best to not have a high reading in the mornings. i do believe weight is a contributer to t2 but not a no 1 cause to t2. there has to b something else. i have noticed that no body talks about their health from childhood to now and the doctors never asked me about it neither when i got diagnosed with t2 .plus its hard to believe kathy freemen has t2.

Hi Yullamah and welcome to the forum You are right - portion control and exercise are necessary to keep your blood levels down and stable so I'm sure you are managing your diabetes well. It is also very important to reduce your carbohydrate intake. I see you test in the mornings but are you also testing before and after meals to see what certain foods do to your levels? What levels have you been getting? How about telling us a bit about your health from childhood for a start? That would be interesting. Me personally, I just had all the usual childhood illnesses. I agree that weight isn't everything as there are many thin T2s, including those on this forum.

I know you have had diabetes for a year now but maybe you still find some useful information in this basic advice written by the former Monitors for new members.
