Got diagnosed 3 moths ago an straight on metformin . no mention from my doc about trying diet an exercise mind you hes about as much use as a plastic fire guard.So going to have a good read on here an see what's what. did see the nurse for a review or more of a first lecture sort of thing. down side is the conflicting information by that i mean she contradicted her self one min i was borderline type 2 an the next i was full on, dont figure. i asked about testing my blood with a meter an they said not to bother
i take metformin 500mg one 3 times a day with a meal

the worst thing for me is changing my diet i like food pasta,rice and bread LOL other things sweets and vodka are my down fall,so as it goes im not a happy bunny. what with theconflicting info an my doc been a spanner

hello riff raff and welcome this site great for info when i was diagnosed i was so confused by my gp advice he basically said stop eating suger and move lol i came on here and met great folk who told me some methods to help i chosse low carb as it seems to suit me and the metaformin tabs, atkins really, since diag in nov im down 3 stone and fitter than ever, the food u talk about can be easy subed for better choices sweets chocs etc cakes i bake my own low carb suger free and i have piece choc per day dark, theres so much you can do i want to tell you the advice u get is better than any so dont feel down over it. you will be fine, look and ask ask ask someone always happy to help with alternatives xx
