Am confused, always check my levels when I first wake up, was given a new wireless Jazz yesterday, 9.1 on that, decided to test on my old one 8.5, I also tested on the I normally keep at work 9.5

You will always see these variations, for many reasons. Meters are only accurate to within 15% in either direction. The best advice is to stick to one of them and keep the others for emergencies, or you will always get confused. You will also see similar variations using the same meter consecutively, whether using the same drop of blood or different drops on different fingers. It is all we have, I'm afraid.

I’m embarrassed to say how many meters I have. I was advised as @Bluetit1802 said to stick with one. I didn’t and it done my head in. I have one meter I use all the time, if it throws up a reading that is off the scale I would check with another one. To me its trends your looking for. Those readings for me would seem pretty accurate as far as the trend would go

Hi @Lesley56 the readings are perfectly with range, nothing abnormal with them. Only advice I can give you is to use just the 1 meter unless, as @rab5 has said you have an unusual reading then check with another meter

I would add to that by saying any unusual reading firstly should be well out of your normal range for that time of day, and secondly, it is probably better to do a re-test with the same meter, and if wildly different, a third test with same meter. That is what I do, even though I have 3 meters. All meters throw up silly wild readings from time to time, which can be a strip malfunction or human error - speck of dust on your finger!

Yep totally agree with you on that... @Bluetit1802

thanks all, didn't realise there was a variation, I usually have two on the go, one at work and one at home, when I go back to work next week I will take one back with me and not worry about it
