I was told by my Diabetes nurse that when I am sick I have to go to the doctors just to check that everything is ok and I haven't got like a chest infection or pneumonia (again). I am feeling sick, it's in my chest, would I need to go to the doctors? And do I have to keep going to the doctors all the time when im sick?

As a diabetic, it is wise to monitor your condition from day to day. Get to know what is serious and what is trivial. Remember, if in doubt - check it out!

I am "lucky" in one respect as I also have myasthenia my name is annotated on the GP's computer when I ask for an appointment I am to get one same day.
Non the less you should get it checked out does your GP's surgery not do emergency appointments as a diabetic you can be considered as particularly vulnerable to infections and can be given priority.
