Do I need to eat a meal at Lantus time?

Hi all,

Another quick question.

So i usually take my Lantus at dinner time between 7-8pm, I also take my NovoRapid at that time, the NR is taken to cover the meal i'm about to eat.

So say in the scenario that I am not eating between 7-8pm can I still take my Lantus at that time and if I want to eat a few hours later just take my NovoRapid with the meal?

I guess the question I'm asking in a looong way is does injecting Lantus require food?
 
No. Lantus is not meant to be used on food. It’s meant to cover / counter the bg our bodies naturally spits out. I take lantus at 10pm without food. Covers me through the night. Then humalog during the day when I eat
 

Hi @O_DP_T1

You answered your own question! Lantus works continuously in the background and does not need you to eat food when you inject it at your usual time. Inject Novorapid to cover food at whatever time you eat it.
