I know this isn't to do with diabetes but I have been put on Docusate tablets for the next 2 week's, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had these or are on them, do they work? Did you get any side effects? Do they give you diarrhea or just help things along and make going easier?

Hi @No1DeadlyPoison, According to Wikipedia, ducosate is a laxative used to treat constipation. It seems to draw fluid into the bowel to make the bowel motion softer.
The article lists its main side-effects as abdominal cramps and diahorroea, and rarely allergies and bleeding from the back passage.
From what I can see ducosate does not treat the actual cause of constipation so your doctor would need to consider that and enlighten you as to the cause and prevention, or consider any tests to find a cause if it is not obvious.
Best wishes!!
