Does anyone else find that cold/flu DOES NOT raise their bg?

I always read about people struggling with high blood sugars when they've got a cold/flu/infection.

I've had maybe 5 or 6 colds etc. since my diagnosis just over 2 years ago and every time I freak out thinking I'll go hyper but every time it has either had no impact whatsoever OR made me go LOWER than usual.

Maybe it's because I've been honeymooning but curious if anyone else has the same experience?

I seem to get raised bg with food poisoning, but nothing happens with a cold - until/unless I get a fever. At that point my bg starts skipping about like a leaf in a breeze.

The HP could be a good explanation why your not seeing high bg numbers @pinewood.

I've only had the flu once and my bg levels went sky-high, but with colds it depends on the severity whether it raises bg levels or not.

Over 50 years of being diabetic and suffering many colds and chest infections, I really can't say that I've noticed much difference to my bg levels. I do, however, find colds take longer to shake off.

it does normaly mate me go higher but since last week its been running lower espcially during the night
