Does anyone know anything about Type 2 requirements to pass an ENG1 medical to work on cruise ship?

I have applied to work for Cunard as a production manager and i have type 2 diabetes. I am controlled by my latest hb1ac was around 9. I've been told that as long as i can show that i am controlled with my medication then my reading shouldn't be an issue.

Is this correct, can anyone help please?
