does anyone suffer with bad wind on medication

Hi I am on metformin slow release but evert few days I get bubbling in my tummy well more like roaring and then bad and i mean bad smelly wind then the runs the next day im fine again was wondering if it is the meds or what is causing it ..anyone had this problem

No squirts? Metfartin should settle down in a week or two. If not l would swap to the slow release

Edit just saw you are on slow release. See if it's a patern after a carby meal

hi janet welcome to the forum I`m new myself I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago and you wouldn`t find a better bunch of people to get advice and support from I started on metformin too and also got bad wind and the runs myself but only lasted a week or so but mine settled down now so hopefully yours will settle

Thanks guys ive been on this metformin slow release 3 months now but get the wind and runs every couple of days with all the other meds i tried got them evryday so guess i will have to live with it

Runs are squirts mate.

The more carbs you eat, the worse the wind. Try cutting out grains (I can't tolerate wheat and metformin) or try LCHF http://www.dietdoctor.com/lchf
