Prediabetes Does consumption of beer increase sugar levels

Yes it does although there are a few low carb beers. Summer weight beers have even more sugar in them. Dr. Malhotra called it liquid toast.

The sugar levels go down in the hangover phase because the liver can't cope with sugar and alcohol at the same time and therefore is potential hypo country.

Yes it does.
The sugar in alcohol will raise blood sugar levels but a few hours later the alcohol will also make your levels plummet. Be on guard for hypos after drinking and it's advisable to have a car by snack before bed to prevent night time hypos.

22g of carbs in a pint all of which come from sugars. Some people can tolerate it some can not.

I drink a low carb mid strength beer, and it does not put my levels up very much.

It one of those things you do in moderation.
