Hi @serenity24 and welcome to the forum.

Some of the female posters do seem to have fluctuations due to hormones.
I will bump your post up for a reply.

PS. So sorry to read your blog post. It must have been a terrible shock for everyone, it takes a while to get over things like that. My condolences to all concerned. ((((hugs))))

Hi there,
I'm on a pump and for approx five days on period I use 5.8 units as my background . any other time I'm on 8 units. My ratios change too from 1:15 to 1:21 for those five days so for me it had a big effect. I think it varies a lot for every individual and every month may be different too. In not sure what your daughter uses injections/ pump but definitely something to chat to diabetes team about. They may suggest changing background/ ratios over those days. It's such a pain, I had a lot of hypos trying to sort it out. Wishing you and your daughter all the best. ( ooh I'm coeliac too!)

Hi. Thanx for ur advice She is currently carb counting with the view of a pump possibly. The diabetes team are trying to help her. They have been good with her. She has isolated herself a lot and has lost touch with friends since she was diagnosed (7yrs ago)
