Shortly after my diagnosis, I changed the way I ate. Rubbish carbs went out of the window, saturated fat became a required nutritional source, and muesli changed to Greek yoghurt and berries.
I can't remember when I came across recommendations for eggs as nutrition bombs, but they're now my breakfast 5-7 times a week (cheese omelette usually).
Today, this turned up in my Twitter feed :
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28109460
Dietary Protein Sources and All-Cause and Cause-Specific Mortality: The Golestan Cohort Study in Iran.
"RESULTS: Comparing the highest versus the lowest quartile, egg consumption was associated with lower all-cause mortality risk (HR=0.88, 95% CI=0.79, 0.97, ptrend=0.03).
"CONCLUSIONS: These findings support an association of ... higher egg consumption with lower all-cause mortality.

Seems I was underestimating their nutritional value.

As an unapologetic meat-eater, just noticed this from same source :
"Significant associations between total red meat and poultry intake and all-cause, cardiovascular disease, or cancer mortality rate were not observed among all participants."
