I was diagnosed with a hbac1 of 74, but I don't understand what that is? What would it be in the terms of when I do my own bg?
Thanks just trying to understand this as much as I can x

Hi sarahjo88, the hba1c is an indicator of your bs's over the last three months

Hi @sarahjo88 - have a look at this. The 74 figure is in mmol/mol. This conversion chart shows you the conversion to mmol/l, which are the units that our blood glucose meters use.

Somewhere there is a brilliant coloured chart showing all the figures graphically - I can find it this second but I think I recall @Brunneria posting it a while back.

Basically, your HbA1c of 74 equates to an average of 11.6mmol/l as per your meter readings.
