If you are an alcoholic DO NOT stop drinking, as strange as that may seem. Shakes are a sign that your body is dependant on alcohol and that it is not getting what it expects. You cannot simply stop drinking alcohol, doing so is very dangerous and should only be done under medical supervision.
You can cope, and you will cope because that's what you do. Keep fighting the good fight my friend.
