Is it true the EU are changing the law so diabetics cant drive at all?
I was told by some law students at my school today, if its true, 'Garn UKIP!!
Yes, i don't think its true because most of them seem to think its funny making stuff up to annoy me but if it is i think i'll cry. hahaHi,
Were these "students" approximately a similar age to yourself perchance....?

This is what i was told why they're banning driving, hope its not true. There's a news story from USA (on BBC News) about a guy who has a diabetic "shock" who then crashes his car into another one at a petrol station and a fire starts. He was fortunately pulled to safety by a guy, who (or someone else) opens his boot to get some stuff out, whilst the car is on fire and I assume about to go boom. Honest.
Yes, i am hypo aware and No to the others, i've only be diagnosed two months now so its all relatively new to me.Alex,
Are you hypo aware? Have you ever passed out & needed help/hospitalisation through hypoglycaemia...?

hahahahahaOK, then as long as you can keep this trend going.. Your doc should give DVLA the thumbs up for you to have a 3 year licence. Providing you pass your test of course..! Every three years it will be renewed on this basis.. The new rules are you must stay above 5 to drive testing at least 2 hours prior to driving & every 2 whilst behind the wheel.. (You must stop of course!)
If found below 5 by the law? & it's pretty much the equivalent of driving whilst under the influence..
Now, your "buddy's" at school... They ain't no doctors.. You look the ringleader of this "jape" squarely in the eye & tell him that you read on this forum that diabetes causes the surface aria of the cilia, which is the receptors at the back of the nose for smell to expand..
To which the sense of a diabetics smell is heightened...
You take a deep sniff & say a diabetic can always smell another diabetic... Then give "matey" a knowing look...
This will leave him somewhat confused & worried..
Give this a few weeks &'yer mate might even go for a check up... That's when you let him in on the diabetics "Kryptonite"..
The inability to smell bulls--t...
