Hi folks yet another question sorry to bother you all again but can high sugar cause a dry mouth more lips than mouth and give u a funny taste in mouth ever since diagnosis I panic with different things even if it is not connected to diabetes
I don't know if diabetes itself is the cause but I have very dry lips and am using vaseline several times a day. Also my mouth gets very dry at night (or during any period of sleep really.)
I used to get a dry mouth, so I asked my dentist about it and he said to avoid toothpaste containing Sodium Lauryl Sulfate as that can cause dry mouth. He said most of the toothpastes for sensitive teeth are SLS-free. So I switched to Sensodyne and the dry mouth has stopped.
