Although many people have proven to themselves that low carbing works for them the NHS still has some hold outs. You may have to be diplomatic if your DN is still one that says, "carbs with every meal". If it comes up in natural conversation fine but if it comes to a knock down drag out argument you may have to smile and nod your head. They like that.
I am a type 2 and there is no doubt that low carbing gives me better control. I read a letter from a woman in Australia whose son is type 1. He took to low carbing and he found that his control improved also. The draw back for some type 1's, I am told, is if they are underweight to start with they have another problem.
