Sorry, I need to vent!
I saw my diabetic specialist nurse this morning, and until now have always sung her praises... But now I see the utter rubbish that some of you have to put up with!
She was obviously having a bad day. Firstly my albumin levels have come back on the high side of normal. I asked what this meant and she couldn't tell me. She dithered over whether I should be treated for high blood pressure, as that is on the high side of normal too. Then she asked what my thoughts on it were! Like I'm qualified.
Finally she asked if I was doing anything different as my blood sugar readings have improved. I explained that I have started jogging for an hour a day, and she was very against it! I'm 33, need to lose weight, but i am fairly fit except for the diabetes, so any cardio exercise I do is surely a good thing??
She couldn't make a decision about my blood pressure treatment so told me she would call me back at 11am today after speaking to my gp. It's nearly 5pm and no call!
Finally at the end of the appointment she told me that I only need to see her annually now.
Came out feeling totally deflated about everything, and like the nhs has now washed its hand of me and my diabetes!!
