Can anyone provide a dummy guide to nutrition labels. I want to understand more especially surrounding carbs and the sugars. For example per serving if something has 4g of carbs and 2g of which is sugar. What does this mean? And to be working on the lchf diet, how many carbs should I aim for per day? I want to use myfitnesspal to monitor my food intake and I see you can set nutrition goals. So as well, what percentage should be carbs, fat and protein?
4g of carbs and 2g of which is sugar means that there is 2g of sugar and another 2g of some other carb making a total of 4gms. You can disregard the "of which sugar" since it is included in the total carbs.
Everyone has a different aiming point for carbs which they work out by using a meter to see what they can tolerate. If you don't have a meter then just try to avoid foods that have a large carb content and see how you go.
