Hi Leona,
I`m an ex Class One driver, because i am now on insulin. But prior to going on to insulin, i was on oral medication and Byetta. My specialist advised me that this would not affect my licence because it`s not insulin, and he stipulated this fact most strongly.so, don`t worry, you should still hold on to your licence, and long may it continue.
I`ve just had my licence back from DVLA, reduced to 3 years because i am now on insulin, so no more driving 44 tonners forme then.
Yes i was very angry about this, because it was a job i loved, but have now come to terms with it, and now have another position in the company i work for.
But don`t you worry, your licence should be fine. All you have to do, unless they`ve moved the goal posts again, is to Stipulate to DVLA that Byetta IS NOT insulin, and their so called experts should realise this.
Read my posting `Driving me nuts` in General Chat section, and another contributer in `Soapbox` section about the effects of losing PSV/LGV licence. It`s very frustrating for people like us.
Good luck, i`m sure all will be ok.
