DVLA

That depends on where you live! If the DVLA have asked for you to have this test, they should have also sent you a letter telling you which Optician will do the test.

The test has to be done by a DVLA approved optician - if you have received the information from them, you'll need to contact the Medical Branch in Swansea to find out what's required.

The test is thorough, but I scored 100% - and that was last year after copious lasering in both eyes, whereas I found the Eastermanns machine quite vague and difficult at times.

I haven't been offered a Goldmans ... I am borderline fail on Estermanns and have had licence revoked. I have lost my job as a result and am challenging the DVLA decision - I need help!

I'm sorry to hear that.

You have two issues here:

1) DVLA ruling on your eyesight / licence - you should request a retest, etc.;
2) Job loss - are you self-employed or an employee?

They have refused a retest so I am looking to get a Goldmans privately. I was employed as an auditor so car was essential ....

What is the difference between the two? I have to have a field vision check done (Easterman Test) at my local opticians but not heard of the Goldsman check before.
