I used to be concerned by my 'all or nothing' personality, because when I would choose badly, it would end badly. Now I find it's really coming in handy.
Once I read about the health implications of grains, legumes, soy, etc., I don't even see that stuff when I go shopping - kind of like I no longer see the cigarettes. It's all the equivalent of rat poison in my mind, so I don't see anything tempting about it. If I look at that kind of food, I just picture a skull and crossbones in my mind, think 'toxic poison' and turn away. My own personal 'blinders' come in handy - I'd hate to go through life being constantly tempted by stuff I know is bad for me.
