We are about to book our first week's holiday (in the UK) since I was diagnosed with type 2. One of the joys of a holiday was eating out every night, having wine etc. Normally this over-indulgence could be tolerated for this short time and I would go back to "behaving" once we were home. However that is not going to be so easy now. I have managed to reduce my HbA1c to 6.4% (46.0) and cholesterol to 2.8 so obviously don't want to ruin this progress! I have the mental image of me sitting with a yummy salad and glass of water while my husband tucks into e.g. a roast dinner with several glasses of red wine!! Very depressing!
