Endobarrier being fitted in a week.

Hi,
Firstly I'm sorry for not getting back here sooner.
All is going well, I had a few pains and days of discomfort. I'm guessing that was just my body getting used to the foreign object. My appetite has been very much suppressed, and even when I do feel hungry I can never finish the meal. I have now lost 1 1/2 stone. Most of this was when I spent the 3 weeks on liquids only. (Boy was I glad to get back on real food.) But best of all, my blood sugars have dropped from around 10-12 to between 5-7 (Self testing). I have also halved my Glimepiride to 2mg a day from 4mg.

The people at University Hospital Southampton have been great, with follow up appointments and phone calls in-between. I still get the odd twinge now and again, but this feels more like trapped wind and soon goes.

So it's, so far so good. I have my first check-up with my diabetes nurse in 3 weeks so will then be able to add my "official" blood test results then.

Paul.
