I am a type 1 diabetic and I have an appointment for an endoscopy at the end of the month,I also take medication, the appointment letter mentions fasting on the morning of the appointment

@motherwell1991 had an endoscopy myself 2 years back. Took my basal as usual. Nothing to eat and no bolus from midnight. From what I remember, obviously you can treat a hypo with a couple of Jelly babies.
Arrived 9am home by 9:45. They persuaded me to have it without being sedated. Which I was planning on doing. Best decision ever. Spray down the throat, a lovely nurse who held my hand and no after effects. Had had one with sedation about 10 years earlier and was dreading it.

I had an endoscopy 6 years ago. Am on a pump, so put a temporary reduced basal rate for 2 hours before my 9am appointment to ensure I didn't hypo. Didn't get taken in for the endoscopy until about 12.00, had it without sedation (no nurse held my hand), and was out about half an hour later.

Had been told to treat any hypo's in the previous 6 hours with barley sugar or glucose tablets, as they're absorbed in the mouth.
