Hi there. I'm a type 1 Diabetic, have been for 10 years now. I'm fairly well controlled but I have problems with erections all the time. I have been to my GP several time and I've tried numerous Viagra style tablets but still no joy. Is there any other help I can get in this area. Many thanks

Might be worth asking your GP to check your Testosterone levels if they haven't been checked already, it my not just be a diabetic problem.

By pass your GP. Ask your diabetic clinic nurse to refer you to the ED outpatients. Once you get an appointment, ask to try Viridal.

It's a small self-administered injection with a very fine needle that you barely notice that you inject into the side of the shaft and is mega. You will get a 'diamond-cutter' erection that lasts at least an hour even if you pop your cork to early, and you will get secondary erections for a couple of hours after (who's complaining?).

It is excellent and has no side effects (such as flashing lights, blue tinted vision etc). I'm 57 and been using it for 3 years now.

But unlike viagara, where you usually get adminstered 2 doses a week, viridal is more pricey so the spoilsports only give you 4 shots a month.

I have been T1 for 50 years since 1970 when I was 13 , by the time I was 23 I was unable to maintain an erection but was unable to talk to anyone about it, I made excuses not to be intimate with my new wife so she left me.
It was 5 years before I dared get seriously involved in a relationship and I decided to seek help. I was referred to a urologist who recommended injections into my penis with a mixture of papavorine and phentolomine before sex - this did work but you would end up with an painful erection that could last for 15-20 hours and was withdrawn from use as dangerous. Over the years I have been prescribed Caverject (injection) then pellets that were to be inserted into the penis, vacuum pumps, viagra and others that I cant remember but nothing has worked. I just had to resign myself to a life without sex - It is the one thing that I will always HATE diabetes for - its ruined my life!!

Hello,

This is a very old topic started a few years ago.

There are some bad times due to diabetes. But also some better times.
How has your BG managment been of late. .
Psychologically, sometimes negative past experience can effect the now? Regardless of methods & hopes for success used.

These are modern times. "Marital aids" are the norm.. & expression of love is more open in a companionship.

It's not always a man's issue. Frank discussion in a relationship could find you both some mutual happiness.

Putting this one in the back pocket for when I get it.
