It's what Type 1 is called when you get it later in life. Don't worry about it unless your doctor is unable to manage your blood sugar without insulin. For now just ask for blood glucose tests, and more meds if required.
your thirsty because your body is doing its job, its making you drink so you will pee out the sugar, once you have less sugar floating around you thirst should subside, i went the other way and was never thirsty, i had to force myself to drink, i assume this was because i had drank enough for the next 2 years before dx hehe
