is this normal?

Are you measuring your blood sugars and are they still high (above 10 mmol / L)?

You probably need increased meds. It's a possibility you are not Type 2 but actually LADA.

whats LADA?
my gp has told me i,m type 2

It's what Type 1 is called when you get it later in life. Don't worry about it unless your doctor is unable to manage your blood sugar without insulin. For now just ask for blood glucose tests, and more meds if required.

bluetit1802, my diet is very bad at the moment though i,ve cut down on the sugar and trying to sort out the carbs

Ally, can we help you with this? If your diet is very bad you aren't doing yourself any favours.

your thirsty because your body is doing its job, its making you drink so you will pee out the sugar, once you have less sugar floating around you thirst should subside, i went the other way and was never thirsty, i had to force myself to drink, i assume this was because i had drank enough for the next 2 years before dx hehe

thank you for the replies
i,m still learning what i can and can,t eat

theres no rush it all takes time to learn, your doing great!
