Hello,

I am confused and looking for some solutions. I woke up with 7.4 reading despite it being lower than 7 at bed time. Most likely the dawn phenomenon.

What's strange is that I went to play tennis , only had tea with few drips of milk. Came back and checked , it's 7.6

Didn't eat any carb and fenergene low carb high fat for lastfewdays. What is raising it and how to control.

Thanks in advance

The same principals of Dawn Phenomenon may also apply to strenuous exercise in some people and on some occasions.

Basically this is a stress response where your liver has dumped glucose to help with exertion and recovery.

So no way to avoid it ? Is it harmful?

May be eat simr fatty stuff before I go play , will it stop ?

You need to experiment and see what works for you. Eating something small beforehand may help.

Did your blood glucose levels come down later in the day?

Suggest you take a look through the sports and exercise forum to see what others are saying.

The BS is still 7.6 and I have had breakfast since then an hr back. It was lowish carb. Had spinach, eggs in butter and a slice of apple in cream.

So in since morning its been above 7 despite exercise. I dont know what am I, is it typical Type 2 behaviour?

and now 6.8 so its going down. almost two hrs after started having breakfast.

Given the error tolerance on a meter (+/- 15%), I would not consider the difference of 7.4 and 7.6 to be a change.
