Had my yearly blood test this morning, Haven't got all my results yet but there is one line on my record - GPPAQ physical activity index: inactive (XaPP8). I walk most days and my Fitbit says I walk more than 40 miles a week. Why does my record say inactive. Is it because I don't go to the gym which is very difficult to do because I am less than 5 foot tall (short).
Thanks

Have they talked to you about activities you do or just made an assumption? I don’t understand however why the gym would be difficult because of your height. Young teens use the gym for certain sessions near us.

I have no idea what those codes mean, but 40 miles of walking a week is certainly not inactivity. Is inactivity the default or do they somehow assume anyone with type 2 doesn’t engage in physical fitness. That would be a sin indeed. I’m hoping it is just an error and you simply need to tell them. I haven’t been to the gym in decades. You don’t need a gym to exercise!

Or perhaps they simply forgot to ask and you received the default which is presumably no exercise.

I've never actually been asked, I always assumed that when chatting about things the take what has been said and select the appropriate boxes. Looking at the questionnaire there is a definite question about walking, which would capture what you do: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5a7b530140f0b6464693564f/GPPAQ_-_pdf_version.pdf (assuming this is the right thing)
