Yet again I am doing an experiment on my wife and I tonight. She spent 2 hours last night close to 10 after a pizza, so we are having 150g of pasta each with half a jar of Asda pasta sauce.
She thinks it is for me, but I worry more about her than me. She is very thin so I may be worrying to much yet again.

I just don't think we (humans) are meant to eat a lot of the foods we do nowadays.
They are just too hard on the body.
We get into the habit when we are young, fit and active, then continue to eat the same as we, and our pancreases age... And it is just too much to ask.

Good luck with the experiment.

But at least you know what to do if she shows a bit of impaired glucose tolerance.

On another forum I read, there have been experiments, with pre-planned foodstuffs, on prearranged evenings, with the volunteers posting their data:

For a moment, I thought that's where you were heading.

I hope it all goes reassuringly for you.

Puts a new twist on date night
I'm not sure if I've missed earlier posts but are you doing to see if your wife has

... Half a post again sorry!
Are you checking to see if your wife has sensitivity to carbs or insulin resistance or something else? Or just to see how a 'normal' persons response is?
Andrea

Yes, Mr B always tests normal on BG, but experiences carb cravings nearly as bad as mine.

So we speculate that he is a pre-pre-diabetic.
And has started monitoring carbs with a view to nipping things in the pre-pre-bud as it were...

Does she eat pizza often? The cheese keeps the carbs raised for a long time. 10 may just be her upper normal level. Some people are just go higher than others. Try not to worry

Hi Colin. Yes Andrea Hawkins hence our earlier conversation of it not being a very imaginative user name. I'm a doctor in chemistry so please don't think I have any knowledge of medicine!!! I barely know what I'm doing let alone being able to give anyone any sensible advice

chemistry is my second favourite doctor.

Can I just ask why if you are worried about her don't you just get GP to do some tests?
