Hi
I have been told to take Gliclazide and just wondered what expirences you guys have had with this?
Been a T2 Diabetic for 1 year, have passed all tests, it just my blood sugar.
If i weight train and run etc my blood sugars drop to around 7-6.2mmol
Still trying to stableize.
Metformin just made me feel ****** so im on Gliclazide
Hi I'm on Metformin and gliclazide and have been on both now for about 2 years gliclazide was added as Metformin on its own stopped working.
Up untill about 3 months ago I could control at about a1c 62 max now I know my levels are on the rise again so it looks like gliclazide no longer working.
My normal morning readings before breakfast now often above 12.
In fact I tried a libre sensor for 14days and my level starts climbing at about 2am to about 14-18 till when I get up at 8:30am .
Although it may be 8 or so when I go to bed.

I have not had any trouble with this medication; though it is much weaker than glubutryde. Perhaps I should have stayed on glubutriyde instead of going on insulin. I like to have the extra 80 gliclazide in 4 tablets during the day as diet and activity are more unpredictable than a steady insulin dose. My GP wanted to reduce them to two, but I didn't want to.
