evening all....well my levels are slowly coming down , but my eye sight, cant read small print or fix on print.... concentration is all been difficult....have managed to get eye test on thursday but they said most likely only test back on eyes because im new to diabetes....never had a problem not until starting on meds this week...
Nice analogy. One of my symptoms has been a blurring of vision and that hasn’t dissapeared even though blood sugar levels have dropped. So I was beginning to assume it had nothing to do with blood sugar levels, but from what you say it may well have been and may well yet improve.As your bg levels improve this can often affect eyesight very temporarily as the eyes catch up with the rest of the body. Do not run out and buy new specs. I think of it a bit like when you've been sat on your own foot causing pins and needles, as the blood supply normalises in the foot the nerve endings are flushed with blood and 'fire off' then settle down.
This can actually be thought of as a good sign imo.

I was going to say, apparently I haven’t been diagnosed, diabetically speaking.We are all different so normal-for-me can differ in time scales. I waited around four months before getting new specs even though I had no blurring of vision. Others arn't as lucky and spend money on a new prescription only to have to get their eyes checked again.
It is worth informing your optician when newly diagnosed as they then know to take this into account.

I hope that applies to me too.Yes it is the blood sugar affecting your eyes. Mine were really blurry i had to wear my glasses to do most things and as the blood sugar dropped my eyes started to improve/
It took around six weeks to get back to normal, but i tell you that when they do get back to normal you will be amazed at all the wonderful colours and brightness of everything .
I am having my yearly eye test in May and I know i will need new glasses with a new better prescription because I find myself reading small print now that i couldn't read last year .
Yes, well I assumed initially that this might apply to me.The other thing to remember is that not everything is caused by Diabetes, our eyesight is affected by aging so regular check ups are essential.

What I have noticed is that the blurriness isn’t consistent and seems to vary, so some days the effect is not so bad.

It has built up over time. It is only in hindsight that I look back and can maybe tie it to blood sugars. You can see I was essentially T2 diabetic though not formerly diagnosed as such in December 2014 and my eyes have been poorer going back that far. How long have you had blurry vision and are your blood levels right down or still higher than they could be. Mine are now always under 7 apart from when i wake when they are 7. plus .Exactly.
My blood sugar levels have dropped but I still have a degree of blurry vision. So hopefully that will fade a way a bit too.

It’s hard to say. It sort of crept up on me, like I said earlier. I don’t use a meter and am going off my HbA1c results - last one just a couple of weeks ago.How long have you had blurry vision and are your blood levels right down or still higher than they could be.
