I am really unsure why but every now and then I will fall asleep without doing my insulin. I do wake up usually because the spike in my sugar level at around 3am. Not sure how to overcome this problem. Any suggestions?

Set an alarm on your phone could help

Hi @a.1234 and welcome to the forum. For me, my life is dependant on routine ... If my wallet is not in the same place every morning, I will walk out without it. I remember it, because I walk past it, on the way to the front door. Before my pump, I had the same issue, so the only way I overcame it, was to set exactly the same routine every night, and when I brushed my teeth, and walked towards the bed, on top of the empty bedside table, was my basal and tablets. I agree, consider an alarm, and when it goes off, drop whatever you are doing, and do the insulin - no excuses, no delay, or put the basal onto your pillow when you get up in the morning, so you have to move it, to get into bed.

Change the time you do your (I assume) long acting insulin to an hour earlier in the evening when you're less sleepy, set an alarm on your phone, keep your insulin by the bed so you see it when you go to bed?

Assuming you mean you take your basal injection just before bed, why don't you just move the injection to an earlier time in the evening, I moved my lantus injection from bed-time to 6pm (not for the same reason as you).

If you do decide to adjust the timing speak with your DSN, I just moved my injection back an hour at a time each day until I got to the chosen time.
