I got this from the DietDoctor website but I also think there’s an explanation on here if you put it in search.
Quote - Fasting can definitely raise blood glucose. This is due to the effect of insulin falling and the rising counter-regulatory hormones including increased sympathetic tone, noradrenaline, cortisol and growth hormone, in addition to glucagon. These all have the effect of pushing glucose from liver storage into the blood.
Have you spoken to your GP? what is causing the pain, is it diabetes related?
I have spinal stenosis and waiting for an operation, I’m on tramadol 4-6 tablets a day, consultant won’t do the operation until my hba1c is under 69!
My understanding is, if you fast, your liver can think you are starving. As a result it will dump glucose.
It can be beneficial to eat a little - a handful of nuts or half a yoghurt to remind your liver that you are fine.
I see this in the morning - my levels rise if I do not eat.

I always have occipital pain if on the occasion I have my own hair done. I spend the evening sat on a recliner sofa with laptop and I think that combined with me beating hell out of a duff pillow that was as flat and lumpy as a pancake, I have irritated my neck. Its not as bad as it was but its still there. It came out of the blue, that's the thing. I haven't pulled it, not overstretched it. Just seems I woke up with it and when I am on the laptop. Oddly enough hubby had it for a few days but his went. Also if I am at my work station sewing/crafting - no pain whatso ever. After sleeping (new pillow), bit rough and stiff, creaky - nothing new there in the morning, okay till I sit down. Its like an ache and I get associated pain in my shoulder and collar bone just on one side. Been doing neck gentle neck exercises which help and have resorted to ordering a neck brace to see if that will help also. No I haven't got in touch with the gp - I try and avoid like the plague. Don't think its diabetes related not sure how it could be to honest but thanks for asking x
