I would say very borderline pre-diabetic, but that was 12 months ago. Things will have changed. It is after all, only a label, no point in worrying what it was then.

It could go either way. My feeling is that in hindsight I should have eaten less in the way of carbs. Reducing actual sugar intake might yet prove to be insufficient. It is only now that I know that dropping carb intake is very important. I have eaten porridge for breakfast (most of the time) for a long time now thinking it was the best way to go when in hindsight it was probably not.
I would hope that my body’s ability to deal with carbs has not deteriorated but am guessing it won’t have got any better.

Remind me, have you bought a meter? Using that will help you more than you can realise. It would also give you some idea of what your next HbA1c may be, with a bit of luck, and will certainly help with your food choices.
