They are usually in the 5 to 6 range, had an occasional 7 and 9 when I've tried new foods but not regularly, these are before bedMay I ask when you get a liver dump?
Is your FBG a lot higher than the test immediately before bed? Or is your liver dump happening as soon as you wake up and lasting through the morning?
Hi bulkbiker my fasts are from 5 pm to 11am every day unless I have something in evening for liver dump but only done this about 4 times recently has my doctors fasting bloods is due tomorrow. When are your fasting times?

and same readings when I get up in morning
Sometimes I break my fast and have some protein and fats like ham or chicken with cream cheese because I'm not sure if I don't will my liver dump be high or not. I want to carry on with intermittent fasting because I would like to lose some weight and worry if I carry on breaking my fast I won't lose the weight.
I've been quite stable with my BG readings throughout the day for a while now,so would you say carry on fasting and not to worry about the liver dumps.K
Thank you very much I do same just have coffee with cream when I get up,what a relief I'm not doing anything wrong,I think it's because of my doctors fasting bloods tomorrow he gave me 3 months to get on track in January, so I hope I've done this I will breath when I get the results on Friday? KathleenIf your bedtime readings are generally the same as your morning fasting, then you aren't having a liver dump. Your levels are stable at whatever level they were when you went to bed. With liver dumps you see a big rise in the mornings, higher than your bedtime ones. I would stop worrying, stop "breaking your fast" and just skip breakfast other than something zero carb and fatty. I fast from tea time to next day lunch time with nothing but water and a coffee with cream when I get up before doing anything else. This works for me.

Will do again thank you. KathleenYou aren't doing anything wrong and seem to be doing very well. It's great you don't have a liver dump!
Good luck with your test. Don't have that coffee and cream when you get up or it won't be a true fasting and the cream may alter your triglyceride level. Make do with water.
Yeah I'd say just carry on sounds like you are doing a great job.. so long as you feel ok then no worries. Fingers crossed for excellent results tomorrow too.Thank you very much I do same just have coffee with cream when I get up,what a relief I'm not doing anything wrong,I think it's because of my doctors fasting bloods tomorrow he gave me 3 months to get on track in January, so I hope I've done this I will breath when I get the results on Friday? Again thanks just didn't understand these liver dumps and what to do about them, but I'm going to carry on doing what I have been doing and fast and not stress about the liver dumps. KI only have very modest liver dumps, and until I used the Libre, I would have sworn I didn't have them.
However, my point is just to add that I can't get too uptight about liver dumps (they can happen during the day too), as all that is happening is your liver is releasing some of it's store. So, it's almost like going onto matter, instead of mains power for your laptop. Then, as soon as we eat, the first thing our body does is to recharge the liver's supplies - again, just as happens when a laptop is plugged it.
I quite like the idea od the "old" glucose in my liver being cycled through every now and then.
Of course, you must do what seems best for you, but please don't torture yourself over this. Whatever you do, it needs to be sustainable.
