Hi everyone.

I have been really under the weather for 5 days now with no sign of improving at this stage.
I'm type 1 and keeping a close eye on my blood...everything seems fine.
I've been unable to eat a thing since Sunday so have developed ketones which I'm ok with.

Is it dangerous to not eat, or am I ok to just keep taking basal and keeping my sugar under control until I feel I can eat again?

I think if your blood sugars are under control you should be OK for a few days at least. Stay hydrated of course. Curious if just your basal keeps your BS pretty stable for days on end? I never experienced anything similar myself. I always thought it would be hard for a Type 1 to lose weight because they'd have to cut way back on insulin as well as food to maintain control.

I thought if you had ketones you should treat with bolus to bring down. The presence of ketones showing the body losing the fight against ill health and in need of assistance.

Thanks all.
Bloods are sitting at 6.3, so no need to bolus.

I hope i feel better soon, too, but not eating has given great results.
