Hello everyone ... I constantly feel bloated especially first thing . I don't have a bad diet and try to keep under control. I have been reading about low carb and wondered if that was for me, although the thought of a cooked breakfast yuk,,, Oh I am T2 and 67 years old .... I would appreciate your suggestions ... For breakfast you can have cold boiled eggs, cold ham, cheese, nuts, berries and full fat yogurt, cold meats, avocado. You are not limited to traditional breakfast foods. Low carb is not difficult, you just have to think outside the box. The low carb diet section of the forum has many threads where people describe what they are eating. Good luck

How many carbs do you eat a day? Do you eat grains, starch or sugar? They all bloat me.
When I first started insulin they told me to eat 20 carbs per meal so I was eating sweet potato and was always bloated. Ditched the sweet potato and went to above ground veggies and bloating went away. Did you add new foods to your diet?
I generally have a quick very low carb breakfast of full-fat Greek yoghurt with some broken walnuts, milled linseed and pumpkin and sunflower seeds (all of these are cheap from Lidl) and a few dried sour cherries or fresh raspberries or blueberries.
As you can see from everyone's posts, there's no obligation to eat a cooked breakfast - it's generally given as an example of an LCHF meal. As long as it's food that's low in carbs with adequate protein and fats/oils, you can eat whatever you fancy, or nothing at all if you're not actually hungry - many people will just have coffee and cream and eat later.
If you go low carb and are on insulin you may have to modify your dose, so please ask for advice about this.
I don't eat breakfast until I get to work. These days it tends to be hard-boiled eggs with spinach leaves dressed with lemon juice and a little bit of bacon or chorizo, or half an avocado with smoked salmon and cherry tomatoes. Not too heavy, tasty and nutritious, and keeps me going for hours.
