For the first 3 months of my life with diabetes I changed my bad ways and successfully slashed my hba1c bg level by more than half. I didn't eat much dairy and not a crumb of cheese passed my lips!
Having learned more from this site and seen some of the effects a LCHF diet has had on cholesterol levels, I have added more of the above into my diet. Perhaps I've been brainwashed by the hype that we must keep diet low in fat because I'm worried my next blood test will show raised cholesterol levels. Yet I cannot deny the results people record here and it's amazing. I really want to continue to keep cheese etc in my diet but I want to make sure I'm not overdoing it.
I use Myfitness pal so I can keep track of the % for fat, carbs and protein. Please will some seasoned LCHFers advise me about the daily amounts of fat I should aim for? I am working on 1300 calories a day in order to lose 2 pounds a week, but find it hard to eat that many, unless I add the fat. By the time I've added my 4-5km walk the programme warns me I'm in starvation mode!!
